Week 2: People and Places

This week we would like you to see some of the people and the places which are outside of our house. We took our training couple to the airport last Monday.
This is Elder and Sister Lindorf with that other doudy looking couple.
This is a picture of our Mission President and his wife.
This is a typical house here. Beautiful flowers at every window, perfectly manicured yards and everything in good repair
Your father and I went on a walk last weekend and this is a covered bridge across the river . It was a good walk from our house.
Here is you father by a moss covered tree along the river bank were we walked for about three hours. Don't you like his hat!! We found it in our apartment.
This is the River Sava by our house and the path we walked on last weekend. It is a beautiful river.
They hold kayaking races on this part of the river, this is close to our house.
This is a guy who just came over the falls to try his luck at the course.
This is your father's favorite, because of the cows. You don't see many animals outside. The keep all their animals inside. But we just happened upon these in the field (the first we have seen outside)
We miss and love you all.

Week 1: Our Apartment

We live in the upstairs of a single family home. The downstairs and the upstairs are just alike. The owner lives downstairs, he doesn't speak English so we just say hello in Slovene that is Dober Dan. He has a wife but she goes to Germany and spends lots of time there with her daughter and grandchild.

This is a large apartment, as far as apartments go here. There are houses on both sides of us but we hardly ever see other people. It must be our schedule. Many people here do not work but the government takes care of them. So all the time you see young adults, old adults just playing, riding their bicycles, hiking, gardening, eating out, shopping, basically doing just what they want to do.

People are very skeptical of us...they always look at our badges and make no effort to smile or engage us in a conversation. Of course we couldn't understand what they had to say if they did talk to us. This is a very safe country there is very little crime.
